Core i9-11900KF vs Xeon E5-2697A v4 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i9-11900KF beats the Xeon E5-2697A v4 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2697A v4 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-2697A v4 has significantly more cores than the Core i9-11900KF. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2697A v4 has 16 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Core i9-11900KF. It also has more threads than the Core i9-11900KF. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i9-11900KF has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2697A v4. Also, the Core i9-11900KF has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i9-11900KF CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2697A v4 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Xeon E5-2697A v4 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i9-11900KF has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
