Core i9-11900KF vs Ryzen 7 5800XT benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i9-11900KF performs better than the Ryzen 7 5800XT. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5800XT in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 5800XT has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i9-11900KF. Despite this, the Core i9-11900KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 7 5800XT outputs less heat than Core i9-11900KF thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 5800XT also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i9-11900KF has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
