Core i9-11900F vs Xeon E5-2697A v4 specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i9-11900F performs better than the Xeon E5-2697A v4. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2697A v4 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2697A v4 has significantly more cores with 16 cores whereas the Core i9-11900F has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i9-11900F. Our comparison shows that the Xeon E5-2697A v4 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i9-11900F. Despite this, the Core i9-11900F has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i9-11900F CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2697A v4 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Xeon E5-2697A v4 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i9-11900F has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
