Core i9-11900F vs Ryzen 7 5800XT comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i9-11900F performs better than the Ryzen 7 5800XT. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5800XT in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 5800XT has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i9-11900F. Despite this, the Core i9-11900F has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i9-11900F CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 5800XT CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 5800XT also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i9-11900F has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
