Core i9-10900KF vs Core i5-14500 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-14500 is faster than the Core i9-10900KF. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-10900KF in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-14500 has slightly more cores than the Core i9-10900KF. Indeed, the Core i5-14500 has 14 cores compared to 10 cores found in the Core i9-10900KF. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i9-10900KF has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-14500. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-14500 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i9-10900KF. The Core i5-14500 also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i9-10900KF has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
