Core i9-10900K vs Core i9-11900K comparison

In our benchmarks, the Core i9-11900K beats the Core i9-10900K in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-10900K in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i9-10900K has slightly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Core i9-11900K that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i9-11900K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i9-10900K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i9-11900K. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i9-11900K has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i9-10900K. Despite this, the Core i9-10900K has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i9-11900K.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i9-10900K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
