Core i9-10850K vs Core i9-12950HX benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i9-12950HX is faster than the Core i9-10850K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-10850K in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i9-12950HX has significantly more cores with 16 cores whereas the Core i9-10850K has 10 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i9-10850K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i9-10850K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i9-12950HX. Also, the Core i9-10850K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i9-12950HX outputs less heat than Core i9-10850K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i9-12950HX has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i9-10850K. The Core i9-12950HX also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i9-10850K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
