Core i9-10850K vs Core i7-14650HX specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-14650HX beats the Core i9-10850K in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-10850K in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-14650HX has significantly more cores with 16 cores compared to the Core i9-10850K that has 10 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i9-10850K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i9-10850K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-14650HX. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-14650HX has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i9-10850K. The Core i7-14650HX also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i9-10850K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
