Core i7-9850H vs Xeon X5680 comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-9850H performs better than the Xeon X5680. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon X5680 in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon X5680 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-9850H. Despite this, the Core i7-9850H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9850H CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5680 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-9850H has significantly more L2 cache than the Xeon X5680. The Core i7-9850H also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i7-9850H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
