Core i7-9850H vs Core i7-1355U benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-9850H beats the Core i7-1355U in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-1355U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1355U has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Core i7-9850H has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-9850H has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1355U. Despite this, the Core i7-1355U has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-1355U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-9850H. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-9850H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
