Core i7-9700KF vs Xeon Silver 4210R comparison

In our benchmarks, the Xeon Silver 4210R beats the Core i7-9700KF in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-9700KF has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the Xeon Silver 4210R has slightly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Core i7-9700KF has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-9700KF. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-9700KF has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon Silver 4210R. Also, the Core i7-9700KF has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9700KF CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon Silver 4210R CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700KF has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
