Core i7-9700KF vs Ryzen 9 7950X benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 9 7950X beats the Core i7-9700KF in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700KF in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 9 7950X has significantly more cores than the Core i7-9700KF. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 7950X has 16 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Core i7-9700KF. It also has more threads than the Core i7-9700KF. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 7950X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-9700KF. Also, the Ryzen 9 7950X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9700KF CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 9 7950X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 7950X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700KF. The Ryzen 9 7950X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700KF has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
