Core i7-9700KF vs Core i7-4770K comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-9700KF is faster than the Core i7-4770K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-4770K in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-9700KF has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i7-4770K has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-9700KF has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-4770K. Also, the Core i7-9700KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-4770K outputs less heat than Core i7-9700KF thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-9700KF has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-4770K. The Core i7-9700KF also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700KF has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
