Core i7-9700KF vs Core i5-10400F comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-9700KF is faster than the Core i5-10400F. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-10400F in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-9700KF has slightly more cores than the Core i5-10400F. Indeed, the Core i7-9700KF has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-10400F. Despite this, the Core i5-10400F has more threads than the Core i7-9700KF. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-9700KF has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-10400F. Also, the Core i7-9700KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-10400F outputs less heat than Core i7-9700KF thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-9700KF has more L2 cache than the Core i5-10400F. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i7-9700KF has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
