Core i7-9700K vs Ryzen Z1 comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen Z1 performs better than the Core i7-9700K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700K in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-9700K has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen Z1 that has 6 cores. Despite this, the Ryzen Z1 has more threads than the Core i7-9700K. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-9700K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen Z1. In terms of cache, the Ryzen Z1 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-9700K. The Ryzen Z1 also has slightly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i7-9700K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
