Core i7-9700K vs Ryzen 9 7900X benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 9 7900X performs better than the Core i7-9700K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700K in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 9 7900X has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Core i7-9700K has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-9700K. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 7900X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-9700K. Also, the Ryzen 9 7900X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9700K CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 9 7900X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 7900X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700K. The Ryzen 9 7900X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i7-9700K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
