Core i7-9700K vs Ryzen 7 5700X3D benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D is faster than the Core i7-9700K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700K in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 7 5700X3D has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-9700K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700K. The Ryzen 7 5700X3D also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
