Core i7-9700K vs Ryzen 7 5700X3D benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D is faster than the Core i7-9700K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700K in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 7 5700X3D has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-9700K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. Also, the Core i7-9700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9700K CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 5700X3D CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700K. The Ryzen 7 5700X3D also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
