Core i7-9700K vs Ryzen 5 9600X benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 9600X beats the Core i7-9700K in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700K in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-9700K has slightly more cores than the Ryzen 5 9600X. Indeed, the Core i7-9700K has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Ryzen 5 9600X. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 9600X has more threads than the Core i7-9700K. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 9600X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-9700K. Also, the Ryzen 5 9600X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 9600X outputs less heat than Core i7-9700K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 5 9600X has more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700K. The Ryzen 5 9600X also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i7-9700K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
