Core i7-9700K vs Ryzen 5 8500G benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-9700K beats the Ryzen 5 8500G in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 8500G in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-9700K has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 8500G has 6 cores. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 8500G has more threads than the Core i7-9700K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-9700K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 8500G. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 8500G has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 8500G outputs less heat than Core i7-9700K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 8500G has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700K. The Ryzen 5 8500G also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i7-9700K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
