Core i7-9700K vs Ryzen 5 7640HS benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-9700K performs better than the Ryzen 5 7640HS. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 7640HS in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-9700K has slightly more cores than the Ryzen 5 7640HS. Indeed, the Core i7-9700K has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Ryzen 5 7640HS. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 7640HS has more threads than the Core i7-9700K. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 7640HS has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-9700K. Also, the Ryzen 5 7640HS has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 7640HS outputs less heat than Core i7-9700K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 7640HS has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700K. The Ryzen 5 7640HS also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking.
