Core i7-9700K vs Core Ultra 5 226V benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core Ultra 5 226V is faster than the Core i7-9700K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700K in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-9700K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core Ultra 5 226V. Also, the Core i7-9700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core Ultra 5 226V has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700K. Despite this, the Core i7-9700K has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core Ultra 5 226V.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
