Core i7-9700K vs Core i5-12600T benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-9700K beats the Core i5-12600T in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-12600T has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-9700K has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i5-12600T that has 6 cores. Despite this, the Core i5-12600T has more threads than the Core i7-9700K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-9700K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-12600T. Also, the Core i7-9700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-12600T outputs less heat than Core i7-9700K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-12600T has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-9700K. The Core i5-12600T also has significantly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i7-9700K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
