Core i7-9700K vs Core i5-12500T benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-12500T is faster than the Core i7-9700K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700K in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-9700K has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i5-12500T has 6 cores. Despite this, the Core i5-12500T has more threads than the Core i7-9700K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-9700K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-12500T. Also, the Core i7-9700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-12500T outputs less heat than Core i7-9700K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-12500T has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-9700K. The Core i5-12500T also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i7-9700K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
