Core i7-9700F vs Xeon E5-2690 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-9700F is faster than the Xeon E5-2690. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2690 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Xeon E5-2690 has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-9700F has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2690. Also, the Core i7-9700F has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9700F CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2690 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i7-9700F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
