Core i7-9700F vs Xeon E5-2687W benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-9700F is faster than the Xeon E5-2687W. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2687W in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon E5-2687W has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-2687W has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-9700F. Despite this, the Core i7-9700F has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9700F CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2687W CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Xeon E5-2687W also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
