Core i7-9700F vs Xeon E5-2660 v4 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-9700F beats the Xeon E5-2660 v4 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2660 v4 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2660 v4 has significantly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Core i7-9700F has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-9700F. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-9700F has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2660 v4. Also, the Core i7-9700F has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9700F CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2660 v4 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2660 v4 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700F. The Xeon E5-2660 v4 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i7-9700F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
