Core i7-9700F vs Xeon E5-2650 v4 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-2650 v4 is faster than the Core i7-9700F. Despite this, the Core i7-9700F has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-2650 v4 has significantly more cores than the Core i7-9700F. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2650 v4 has 12 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Core i7-9700F. It also has more threads than the Core i7-9700F. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-9700F has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2650 v4. Also, the Core i7-9700F has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9700F CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2650 v4 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
