Core i7-9700F vs Xeon E5-1680 v2 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-9700F is faster than the Xeon E5-1680 v2. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-1680 v2 in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Xeon E5-1680 v2 has more threads. A Core i7-9700F CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-1680 v2 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
