Core i7-9700F vs Xeon E-2186M benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-9700F performs better than the Xeon E-2186M. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E-2186M in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-9700F has slightly more cores than the Xeon E-2186M. Indeed, the Core i7-9700F has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Xeon E-2186M. Despite this, the Xeon E-2186M has more threads than the Core i7-9700F. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-9700F has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E-2186M. Despite this, the Xeon E-2186M has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon E-2186M outputs less heat than Core i7-9700F thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i7-9700F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
