Core i7-9700F vs Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-9700F is faster than the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-9700F has slightly more cores than the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G. Indeed, the Core i7-9700F has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G has more threads than the Core i7-9700F. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-9700F. Despite this, the Core i7-9700F has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-9700F. Despite this, the Core i7-9700F has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
