Core i7-9700F vs Ryzen 5 7600 specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 7600 performs better than the Core i7-9700F. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700F in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-9700F has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 7600 has 6 cores. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 7600 has more threads than the Core i7-9700F. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 7600 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-9700F. Also, the Ryzen 5 7600 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 7600 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700F. The Ryzen 5 7600 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
