Core i7-9700F vs Core i7-1255U benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-9700F beats the Core i7-1255U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-1255U in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1255U has slightly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Core i7-9700F has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-9700F. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-9700F has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1255U. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Core i7-1255U outputs less heat than Core i7-9700F thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-1255U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700F. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
