Core i7-9700 vs Xeon E5-2690 v4 benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-2690 v4 performs better than the Core i7-9700. Despite this, the Core i7-9700 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-2690 v4 has significantly more cores with 14 cores compared to the Core i7-9700 that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-9700. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-9700 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2690 v4. Also, the Core i7-9700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9700 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2690 v4 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP.
