Core i7-9700 vs Xeon E-2146G specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-9700 beats the Xeon E-2146G in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E-2146G in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-9700 has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Xeon E-2146G has 6 cores. Despite this, the Xeon E-2146G has more threads than the Core i7-9700. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E-2146G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-9700. Despite this, the Core i7-9700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9700 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E-2146G CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i7-9700 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
