Core i7-9700 vs Ryzen 7 7700 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 7700 is faster than the Core i7-9700. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 7 7700 has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 7700 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-9700. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 7700 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-9700. The Ryzen 7 7700 also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i7-9700 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
