Core i7-9700 vs Core i7-14700F comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-14700F is faster than the Core i7-9700. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-14700F has significantly more cores with 20 cores whereas the Core i7-9700 has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-9700. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-9700 has a much higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-14700F. Despite this, the Core i7-14700F has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-14700F has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-9700. The Core i7-14700F also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i7-9700 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
