Core i7-9700 vs Core i7-1270P specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-9700 beats the Core i7-1270P in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-1270P in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1270P has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Core i7-9700 has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-9700. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-9700 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1270P. Despite this, the Core i7-1270P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1270P outputs less heat than Core i7-9700 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-1270P has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700. The Core i7-1270P also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i7-9700 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
