Core i7-9700 vs Core i7-1260P specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-9700 performs better than the Core i7-1260P. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-1260P in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1260P has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Core i7-9700 has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-9700. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-9700 has a much higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1260P. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Core i7-1260P outputs less heat than Core i7-9700 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-1260P has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-9700. The Core i7-1260P also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i7-9700 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
