Core i7-9700 vs Core i3-1215U comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-9700 is faster than the Core i3-1215U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-1215U in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-9700 has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i3-1215U that has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-9700 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-1215U. Also, the Core i7-9700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i3-1215U outputs less heat than Core i7-9700 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i3-1215U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-9700. Despite this, the Core i7-9700 has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i3-1215U.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i7-9700 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
