Core i7-920 vs A10-6800K specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the A10-6800K performs better than the Core i7-920. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-920 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-920 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the A10-6800K has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the A10-6800K. With our hardware info, we find that the A10-6800K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-920. Also, the A10-6800K has a significantly higher turbo speed. The A10-6800K outputs less heat than Core i7-920 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-920 has significantly more L2 cache than the A10-6800K

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-920 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
