Core i7-8850H vs Xeon X5670 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon X5670 beats the Core i7-8850H in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-8850H has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon X5670 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-8850H. Despite this, the Core i7-8850H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-8850H CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5670 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-8850H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
