Core i7-8850H vs Xeon E5-430 specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-8850H performs better than the Xeon E5-430. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-430 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-8850H has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Xeon E5-430 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon E5-430. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-430 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8850H. A Core i7-8850H CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-430 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Xeon E5-430 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-8850H
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-8850H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
