Core i7-8750H vs Core i5-8500 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-8500 is faster than the Core i7-8750H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8750H in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Core i7-8750H has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-8500 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8750H. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Core i7-8750H CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-8500 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones.
