Core i7-8750H vs Core i5-7600 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-8750H beats the Core i5-7600 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-7600 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-8750H has significantly more cores than the Core i5-7600. Indeed, the Core i7-8750H has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i5-7600. It also has more threads than the Core i5-7600. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-7600 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-8750H. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Core i7-8750H CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-7600 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-8750H has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-7600. The Core i7-8750H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-8750H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
