Core i7-8700T vs Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-8700T performs better than the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-8700T has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE. Indeed, the Core i7-8700T has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8700T. Despite this, the Core i7-8700T has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE has slightly more L2 cache than the Core i7-8700T. Despite this, the Core i7-8700T has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i7-8700T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
