Core i7-8700T vs Core i7-1355U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-8700T beats the Core i7-1355U in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-1355U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1355U has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Core i7-8700T has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-8700T has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1355U. Despite this, the Core i7-1355U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-1355U has more L2 cache than the Core i7-8700T. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i7-8700T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
