Core i7-8700T vs Core i3-N305 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i3-N305 is faster than the Core i7-8700T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8700T in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i3-N305 has slightly more cores than the Core i7-8700T. Indeed, the Core i3-N305 has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i7-8700T. Despite this, the Core i7-8700T has more threads than the Core i3-N305. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-8700T has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i3-N305. Also, the Core i7-8700T has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i3-N305 outputs less heat than Core i7-8700T thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i3-N305 has more L2 cache than the Core i7-8700T. Despite this, the Core i7-8700T has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i3-N305.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-8700T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
