Core i7-8700 vs Core i7-13620H specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-13620H is faster than the Core i7-8700. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8700 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-13620H has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Core i7-8700 has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-8700. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-8700 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-13620H. Despite this, the Core i7-13620H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-13620H has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-8700. The Core i7-13620H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-8700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
