Core i7-8650U vs FX-8370 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-8370 is faster than the Core i7-8650U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8650U in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the FX-8370 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-8650U. Also, the FX-8370 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-8650U CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8370 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-8370 has more L2 cache than the Core i7-8650U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-8650U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
