Core i7-8650U vs Core i5-10300H benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-10300H beats the Core i7-8650U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8650U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-10300H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8650U. Also, the Core i5-10300H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-8650U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-10300H CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-8650U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
